  • Quantas and Airbus announced a partnership to invest ~$9 million into Climate Tech Partners (CTP), a venture capital fund dedicated to advancing SAF market.
  • VCI Biofuels Group, a Vietnamese ethanol producer, announced a ~$1 billion merger agreement with International Media Acquisition Corporation (IMAQ) to form VI Energy to expand its current ethanol production and enter the SAF market.
  • BP paused its SAF project at the Castellón refinery in Spain due to slower-than-anticipated SAF market growth.
  • Neste began producing SAF at its Rotterdam refinery in the Netherlands, with the upgraded facility producing ~165 million gallons of SAF annually.
  • Odakyu Electric Railway announced a partnership with JGC Holdings, Revo International, and Saffaire Sky Energy to supply ~0.02 million gallons of used cooking oil (UCO) annually to Cosmo Oil Sakai Refinery in Osaka, Japan for its SAF production.
  • Bangchak Corporation, a Thai-based energy company, invested ~$288 million into a SAF production facility in Thailand.
  • Cosmo Oil delivered its first batch of domestically produced SAF to Japan's Air Self-Defense Force team at Kansai International Airport.
  • FatHopes Energy, a Malaysian biofuel company, announced a partnership with AmSpec Group, a testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services provider, to improve efficiency and scalability of SAF production across Asia Pacific.
  • Ecopetrol announced plans to invest ~$600 million to construct a SAF production plant at its Barrancabermeja refinery in Colombia, South America.
  • Ash Creek Renewables, a U.S.-based technology solutions provider, secured an exclusive licensing agreement from Montana State University to use a new high-performance camelina seed variety for SAF production.
